I love the practice of Ayurveda. I love the way I can nourish and heal myself through simple practices. I love the fact that I can put myself in the hands of loving Ayurvedic practitioners and come out feeling rejuvenated and then take the teachings home with me and continue the process.

Hi, my name is Karen Wheeler and I became interested in Ayurveda in April, 2007. Since then I have incorporated Ayurvedic cooking and nutrition into my daily life. My health has improved and each day I learn more about myself and those around me. Sharing this wonderful gift with others was my motivation for becoming an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Instructor. After being certified to teach Ayurvedic Lifestyle by The Chopra Center in November 2008, I have focused my studies and teaching on Ayurvedic nutrition, Ayurvedic cooking and offering Ayurvedic Consultations. I have completed 60 hours of instruction in Ayurvedic Nutrition and Self-Care from the Ayurveda Polarity and Yoga Therapy Institute in Santa Fe, NM. I have studied Ayurvedic Cooking with Dr. Vasant Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM, and completed a 5-day Ayurvedic Cooking Intensive with Amadea Morningstar through the Ayurveda Polarity and Yoga Therapy Institute. I recently completed my training as a Chopra Center Ayurvedic Consultant. This training has given me a deeper understanding of disease from an Ayurvedic view point and will enhance my practice of Ayurvedic Consultations.

Class Schedule

2nd Saturday, 2-3 pm Introductory Class

Event Details: Would you like to learn a simple breath- or mantra-based meditation practice?  If you are new to meditation please join me on the 2nd Saturday of the month, from 2-3pm, for a Beginning Meditation Class.  Cost of this class is $5 or donate what you can.
